Do Less This Month

May 21st, 2008 | By admin | Category: Open Letters

It’s no longer the dingo that’s threatening to eat your baby- it’s the thousands of chemicals you (the bad mother) are exposing her to everyday. It’s not just enough to clean anymore: you have to clean green which means purging your sty without fumes burning a hole in your retina.

The dozen or so good “natural” cleaning product companies are looking at moms to lead the way make their companies a household name. The only problem is, who has the time to try all of these crunchy products to find the best?

Can something that doesn’t burn your hands really get your tile sparkling? If it doesn’t make you want to pass out, is it doing the job?

Because One Crazy Mother is about solutions, June 9th marks the kick-off of our Cleaning Green Challenge. Five test moms who range from former bleach abusers to self-proclaimed hippies will be testing and rating products from Seventh Generation, method Home, and Clorox Green Works.

Each tester will try an All Purpose Cleaner, Tub/ Tile Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, and Toilet Bowl (sorry testers) cleaner and choose winners for the following categories:

Best Dressed (packaging)
Most Likely To Succeed (who gets the job done?)
Best Scent
Gentlest Foruma
Most Committed to Being Green
Easiest…To Use
-and-
Most Popular

Our One Crazy Mother testers will be introduced when the Cleaning Green Challenge launches on Monday, May 9th.

For three weeks our testers will clean like they’ve never cleaned before putting each company’s good name on the line.

Week 1: method Home…all fluff and no fold or just as cool as they look?
Week 2: Seventh Generation…overpriced or worth every penny?
Week 3: Clorox Green Works…can “The Man” really go green?
