Questions for Caillou

In case you’ve never heard of it, Caillou is an adapted French ( or French Canadian?) cartoon. The main character, Caillou (cai-oo) is an effeminate boy who looks about 5. My kid is asleep, but I can’t help it; I’m watching the show, searching for a plot line.

I’m confused about a few things and would like to take this opportunity to ask PBS a couple of questions…

1. Why doesn’t the show take up the whole screen? Is that a special effect or water damage on the film?

2. Why is Caillou bald?

3. Who is narrating the show? Aunt? Grandmother? Stranger?

4. What percentile is Caillou’s head circumference?
